Substance Abuse and Mental Health Treatment
UMADAOP Lucas County provides treatment for a substance abuse or mental health diagnosis, or both, if they occur simultaneously. If the diagnosis determines that there are co-occurring disorders, treatment is provided through an integrated approach, where both the substance abuse problem and the mental disorder are treated simultaneously. Whether the mental health or substance abuse problem came first, long-term recovery is greatly aided by getting treatment for a single, or both disorders by the same treatment provider or team.
There is always hope. Alcohol and drug abuse problems and mood disorders are treatable conditions. Recovering from co- occurring disorders takes time, commitment, professional assistance and courage, but people with substance abuse and mental health problems can recover and live successful and healthy lives.
